FAVORITE NCU FACT/MEMORY:

Some of my very favorites memories are from the semester abroad experience I had in Seville, Spain, during the spring of my Junior year at NCU. The second, was having Dr. Doyle Srader as my Intro to Communications professor his first year here!

BEST PART OF MY JOB:

I love getting to work closely with students, faculty, and staff. We have a very tight-knit, caring community at NCU and it’s a joy to be part of such an amazing place!

TIPS FOR COLLEGE SUCCESS:

It’s perfectly alright not having it all figured out. The joy is in the journey!

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE:

“The?Lord?is my strength?and my shield;?my heart trusts?in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy,?and with my song I praise him.” Psalm 28:7

FAVORITE NCU FACT/MEMORY:

So far, my favorite memory was watching the men’s soccer team win their first playoff victory.

BEST PART OF MY JOB:

I really enjoy that I get to have this holistic relationship with students – it is meaningful and deep, but also fun and practical! Some of my favorite parts of the day are when students sit in my office and we get to talk, discover, and dream about their passions/interests.

TIPS FOR COLLEGE SUCCESS:

Enjoy this time for what it is – a time to develop, grow, and identify your interests. Also, write your assignments down.

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE:

“After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had returned to the table, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you??You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am.?So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.?For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.” John 13: 12-15

FAVORITE NCU FACT/MEMORY:

Celebrating a co-workers birthday by having a glow stick party in the dark!

BEST PART OF MY JOB:

Having a relationship with students. I love talking with them and hearing their stories!

TIPS FOR COLLEGE SUCCESS:

Communication is key. Read your emails often. Ask questions. Talk with your professors. Be involved.

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE:

John 3:16 speaks to me. It reminds me every day that I was chosen by God and that is an incredible feeling!

FAVORITE NCU FACT/MEMORY:

I love participating in Choir every spring and performing with my students. I also love to hear senior’s farewell messages during the Cutting of the Ivy ceremony.

BEST PART OF MY JOB:

Meeting with students and helping them navigate college to achieve their academic and career dreams. I love when students are visibly relieved and less stressed after an appointment with me.

TIPS FOR COLLEGE SUCCESS:

Study abroad! You won’t regret it, you’ll only regret not doing it. Mark all major assignments on a master calendar during the first week of the semester. This was always a huge stress reliever for me, even in grad school. You can then clearly see how everything spreads out and can plan ahead accordingly.

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE:

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12: 1b-2
